The Center for Research and Education in Immunobiology (CREI) is located at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (in the beautiful Floripa island), Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology. CREI hosts for labs dedicated to research and education of immunology:

Our research focuses on the understanding of how the immune system responds to infectious agents. 

​

By modeling viral and bacterial infections in the tube or in nature, we combine a fruitful scientific atmosphere to approach the complex interactions between multicellular hosts and their co-inhabitant microorganisms during homeostasis and disease.

Also, we develop tools, vaccines and therapeutic strategies to reduce the burden of neglected diseases to humans.
